Apprentice Plumber – 4th Year

Ben Davie

With 4 years in the trade, I’ve built a strong foundation in plumbing while continuing to grow my skills every day. I hold my Working at Heights certification, Certificate II and III in Plumbing, and I’m currently completing my Certificate IV. What I enjoy most about the industry is learning something new each day and being able to apply those skills not only on the job, but in everyday life as well.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me unwinding at Burleigh Pav — definitely my favourite place to relax. Before starting my career in the trade, my first job was at McDonald’s, where I learned an important lesson that still sticks with me today: if you want something in life, you’ve got to work for it.

Apprentice plumber

Daniel Gallagher

With 5 years of plumbing experience under his belt, our apprentice plumber brings a strong hands-on background and a problem-solving mindset to every job. Originally qualified as a carpenter and holding a Diploma in Gas Utilisation, he’s built a solid skill set across multiple trades — making him a valuable part of the team on-site.

What he enjoys most about the job is that no two days are ever the same. Every project brings a new challenge and a different puzzle to work through, keeping the work rewarding and interesting.

When he’s not on the tools, you’ll probably find him in Queensland — his favourite place to unwind — or training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which he’s been committed to for the past 5 years.

Before getting into the trade industry, his very first job was working as a furniture removalist at just 15 years old. It was hard work, but it taught him the value of putting in a solid day’s graft — a lesson that still sticks with him today.

Leading Hand Plumber

Ben Feltell

A Leading Hand Plumber with 10 years of hands-on experience in the trade, currently working with Waterfox Plumbing—the only company in the industry I’ve been part of throughout my career.

Qualified with Cert I and Cert III in Plumbing and Drainage, along with Confined Space certification, Testing and Tagging, and a Backflow Prevention certificate, I bring both technical skill and practical site experience to every job.

What I enjoy most about plumbing is the variety—no two days are ever the same. Every project brings something new to learn, which keeps the work interesting and constantly challenges my skills.

Outside of work, I enjoy fishing, camping, and boating, as well as spending quality time with family and catching up with mates. My ideal getaway is relaxing by a pool in Bali with a cold drink in hand.

One of my most memorable early job experiences was working on a 40mm copper line near a pool, where I first used a B-Press tool—something I thought was incredible at the time. It also turned into a fun day with SEA FM running in the background and people jokingly asking if we were part of the “SEA FM fugitive” segment—a day I’ll never forget.

Outside of work, he enjoys travelling, with Portugal and Dubai being favourite destinations to relax and unwind. A former England & Great Britain Rugby League representative at schoolboy level, he now loves supporting and watching his son play for the Nerang Roosters U11s.

Josh Hughes

As a Second Year Apprentice, I’m currently completing my Cert III in Plumbing and bring a diverse skill set with a Cert III in Business, Cert II in Electrical, Working at Heights certification, and a Blue Card. Over the past 1 year and 2 months in the trade, I’ve discovered that no two jobs are ever the same — every day brings a new challenge and a chance to think through practical solutions. That problem-solving aspect is what I enjoy most about the industry.

Before stepping into the trade, I worked at McDonald’s from the age of 16 to 20, where I developed strong communication skills, teamwork, and customer service experience that still help me on the job today. Outside of work, I play Oztag every Tuesday and enjoy watching all kinds of sports. When it’s time for a break, you’ll usually find me either planning a trip to Bali or heading off on a camping trip with my mates.
